The Background of Poker Money
Poker chips have been manufactured from a varied range of materials in an almost endless variety of styles since the advent of betting and the requirement to keep an eye on winnings. The most commonly seen components used today in the creation of modern poker chips are plastic, clay composite, and acrylics. Clay chips, the primary of the group, have been made in the US since the late 19th century.
Back in the 19th century, poker players seemed to use any tiny item with value imaginable. Early poker enthusiasts sometimes employed rough gold pieces as well as chips - normally made of wood and clay. By the 1900s, poker chip designs started to enjoy a bigger prominence, and the smooth edges of older chips gave way to chips with ridges to keep them neatly arranged with each other.
There is little or no debate that poker has increased constantly in universal appeal since its beginnings in the 1800s. With the explosive growth of internet gambling and specialty television shows, community interest in poker has accelerated faster than ever before. Many individuals are initially introduced to poker by television showssuch as Bravo's "Celebrity Poker Showdown" or the Travel Channel's "World Poker Tour," and most will gamble on their initial hands on the web. Despite internet poker's rise, nothing competes with the feeling of mixing weighty poker chips in your hands, tossing chips into the middle of a casino table, or creating tall pilesstacks of chips after showing a victorious hand.
